Almost two decades ago, while in college, I was confused when I read the above lines – how could a person study his whole life? But after gaining real life experiences, I understand better the actual meaning of these lines. It’s true that a person learns something new every minute of every day. The only difference is that some people take much more interest in learning new things compared to others.
Even in the trucking industry, the above lines hold true, as we learn new concepts every day and change with them. In the last 10 years, technology has changed the face of everything, including the trucking industry. This industry has evolved from simple to high tech in a short period of time; trucks and trailers, repairs, paperwork, dispatch, load finding, tracking, fueling, and border crossings have gone high tech these days. Technology has not only made the trucking industry more efficient and productive, it has also increased the competitive speed. If you don’t keep up with this fast-paced industry, you may get left behind by your competition or put yourself out of business.
If you are continuously upgrading yourself and your team, you are keeping up with progress; if not, do some self-analysis and find out the causes of the lack of growth. It is not necessary that you learn everything by yourself. There is much talent in the market – just make sure to include the right kind of talent in your team.

ਦੋ ਕੁ ਦਹਾਕੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਕਾਲਜ਼ ਪੜਦਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉੱਪਰਲੀਆਂ ਲਾਈਨਾ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਕਿਤਾਬੀ ਲਗਦਾ ਸੀ, ਮੈ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਤਜ਼ਰਬੇ ਨੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਲਾਈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸਲ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹੀ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬੰਦਾ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਹਰ ਪਲ਼ ਕੁੱਝ ਨਾ ਕੁੱਝ ਸਿੱਖ਼ਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਫ਼ਰਕ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਐਨਾ ਕੁ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਖ਼ਣ ਦੀ ਚਾਹਨਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕਈਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਘੱਟ।
ਅਸੀਂ ਟਰੱਕਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਕੁਝ ਨਵਾਂ ਸਿਖ਼ਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ। ਪਿੱਛਲੇ ਦਸਾਂ ਕੁ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਚਿਹਰਾ-ਮੋਹਰਾ ਬਦਲ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉੱਥੇ ਟਰੱਕਿੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਸਾਦੀ ਇੰਡਸਟਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਇਹ ਕਰੋਬਾਰ ਵੀ ਹੁਣ ਹਾਈ ਟੈਕ ਬਣਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਟਰੱਕ, ਟ੍ਰੇਲਰ, ਪੇਪਰ ਵਰਕ, ਡਿਸਪੈਚ, ਟਰੈਕਿੰਗ, ਬਾਰਡਰ ਕਰਾਸਿੰਗ,ਫ਼ਿਊਲਿੰਗ ਆਦਿ, ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਚੀਜ਼ ਹਾਈ ਟੈਕ ਬਣਦੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਇਸ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਦੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਖ਼ਾਰ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਦੀ ਰਫਤਾਰ ਵੀ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੇਜ਼ ਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਹਾਣ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਉਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਕਾਬਲੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ, ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਵੀ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੋਂ।
ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਅੱਪਡੇਟ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਚੰਗੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ, ਜੇਕਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਹੀ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਵੈ ਪੜਚੋਲ ਕਰੋ ਕਿ ਕਮੀ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ।ਜਰੂਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਕੁੱਝ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਅਉਂਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੋਈਏ। ਬਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਟੇਲੈਂਟ ਮੌਜ਼ੂਦ ਹੈ, ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਹੀ ਅਤੇ ਲੋੜ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਟੇਲੈਂਟ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਟੀਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
